If your garage door is stuck open, stuck shut, hanging crooked, or off its track, call Auroras ASAP Garage Door Service on (303) 985-7942. We answer in person seven days a week and we hold slots back in each day's schedule specifically for doors that cannot be left as they are. Tell the person who answers what the door is doing and whether the house is exposed, and you will get an arrival window on that call.
Aurora, east Denver and the Hampden corridor are on our routes every day, with Centennial, Englewood, Greenwood Village, Littleton, Lakewood and Parker on the same daily schedule.
Call us straight away if
- The door is stuck open and the garage connects to the house
- The door is stuck closed with a vehicle you need inside
- A spring broke and the door slammed down
- The door is off its track or hanging at an angle
- A cable snapped and one side has dropped
- The door will not stay closed, or reverses every time it touches the floor
- The opener is running against a door that is not moving
What to do while you wait
Stop using the opener. If a spring or a cable has gone, the opener is lifting weight it was never designed to carry, and the usual result is a stripped gear or mounts pulled out of the ceiling, turning one repair into two.
If the door is open and you need to secure the house, do not try to force it down by hand: a door with a broken spring drops fast and hard. Lock the interior door between the house and the garage, move anything valuable out of sight, and tell us on the call that the house is exposed so we schedule accordingly.
The failures behind most emergency calls
The large majority of urgent calls we take are broken torsion springs, snapped lift cables, doors knocked off track by a vehicle, and openers that have failed with the door part way through its travel. Cold snaps cluster the spring calls, and the first hard freeze of the season is reliably our heaviest morning of the year.
Each of those has a stock answer on the truck: springs in common wire sizes, cables, rollers, hinges, drums and bearings, and the common opener gear kits. That is what makes a single-visit repair possible rather than a diagnosis today and a return trip Thursday.
What our hours actually mean
We are open 8 AM to 8 PM, seven days a week, including weekends. That is a longer day than a standard trade schedule, and it covers the two times people find a door broken: leaving for work and arriving home. We are not going to claim a 24-hour crew we do not run. If you call at 7:30 PM with a door stuck open, you will get a straight answer about whether we can be there tonight or first thing tomorrow, and what to do in the meantime.
